This is a huge blessing.
Before we started dating, Tyler had planned to get his Master's from BYU and then go out of state for his PhD. Then he met me. And I was a packaged deal. I was devastated to learn that Tyler would be leaving Utah in 18 months. I have joint custody of Coleman with his dad and there was absolutely no way he would ever allow me to move him across the country. After about 2 weeks of dating (before he ever met Coleman), Tyler took me for a drive. I fought back tears. I knew I was falling for this incredible guy and that I wasn't going to be able to be with him. Then Tyler pulled the car over and told me, "I'm only going to apply for Doctorate Programs In-State... I know how difficult it would be for you to move." We hadn't discussed the future. We hadn't made plans. He hadn't even met Coleman. Yet he knew we'd be together. He was selfless. He IS incredible.
Tyler is a teacher's assistant for Dr. Jamie Jensen. He keeps office hours, tutors, helps grade papers, etc. This semester he was able to teach Bio100 as well. I am so proud of him. He loves teaching.
He took us on a tour of campus. It was so fun to see his office and where he teaches.
This is Tyler's Classroom.
Coleman loved the personal desks with each seat.
Tyler had a surprise for Coleman. He took us to the Talmage Building and showed us PO the Panda. We love Kung Fu Panda!
