Girls night at the SCERA

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I have a terrific group of friends!    I have a friend who sings in a band; the band impressively made it to the Elite 8 (out of 3,000 mind you) to compete at the Scera.  The top 2 would get to open for the Beach Boys at the Stadium of Fire.
A few of my girlfriends and I made a night of it.  I'm so glad we went, we had a blast!

Part of our group:  Julie, Chelsea, Me, Julie, Megan and Hannah

This is my friend's band. The Spencer Glenn Band.  They were so great.  Sadly, they didn't make the cut but they were amazing!
The combination of the small white dude (think Jason Mraz look-a-like), a Chilean chick drummer and 3 Samoans... How can you go wrong?

They were seriously so great!

This is more specifically the friend I came to support.  Amazing talent, this boy!
It was blazing hot at first, thankfully it cooled down pretty quickly.
Hannah and Megan

Oh Chelsea.... there are no words :)

I'm hesitant to post this picture but it's too funny not to.  **I DID NOT TAKE THIS PHOTO!  Someone (cough, cough Sandi) stole my camera when I wasn't looking and took a bunch of random pictures like this one.  I laughed when I saw them, she's so sneaky :)

FINALLY- The headliner
DAVE BARNES
He was hilarious!  and ridiculously talented.  I always get nervous when I really like a song that it isn't going to be good live... he was terrific!

Yay for good friends, good music and good times!

Duking it Out

My little boy 100% all-man!  He loves sports and anything physical.  He was more than happy to don some gloves and go a few rounds with his mother.

The little bugger has a mean right-hook.

I love you, Coleman.

Concert in the Park

Sunday nights in June, my extended family attends the concert in the park in Provo.  It's always fun to get together with the Dahl's.

Eric, Rusty and Me
I dare you not to have a good time when you're around us

Coleman even got in on a volleyball game with Kamryn and Jodi.

I'm thankful for family nearby.  It was a great way to spend a Sunday summer evening

Fireworks from Summerfest

I love my house.  I always have.  I love the location but mostly I love my great friends and neighbors.  Tonight I was able to celebrate both.  My good friends, Neil and Angelica (along with their 3 little girls) came over to watch the fireworks from Orem City's Summerfest on my front lawn.

The girls and I played with some sparklers

The LAMEST sparkler dance ever

Apparently, I was doing a rain dance here??  Hmm, must be my Northwest Roots.

All snuggled up, waiting for the fireworks

My pathetic attempt at making a heart with my sparkler...
 FAIL

So much fun but all good things must come to an end.
Lily given me good-night kisses

So sweet.

(Side note: Coleman fell asleep an hour before the festivities.  We were not excluding him from the festivities)

It's always fun when Grandpa comes

I love my dad.  He is one the greatest men I know.  He has been and continues to be one of my greatest supporters.
If you know my dad, you know us both.  We are one-in-the-same.
This last week my dad was driving home from Texas and made a few pit stops in Utah along the way.  I got a phone call around 10am saying he was leaving Hallie's T-ball game in Moab and would be in Orem for lunch.  That's one of the great things about him, he loves his kids and grandkids and will always make time for us.

Even though it was only for about an hour, Coleman and I had lunch with Grandpa James....

...and it was one of the highlights of our week.
